37Necklaces Chiles, Chipotle Chiles in Adobo Sauce

A pantry essential for pepper lovers, these chipotle chiles in adobo bring smoky heat and rich depth with minimal effort. The chiles are packed in a thick, mildly seasoned tomato sauce and cooked together during canning, creating a ready-to-use ingredient that lands around a 5–6 on the heat scale. Use them to speed up barbecue sauces, hot wing sauces, salsas, or stews—or skip the prep entirely and enjoy them straight from the can instead of soaking or boiling dried chipotles.
