37Necklaces Brun-uusto Baked Cheese

Brun-uusto is a Wisconsin-made Bread Cheese. Juustoleipa in Finland and Sweden translates to Bread Cheese. It is known as Finnish squeaky cheese, as the bread cheese squeaks against the teeth when bitten. The cheese is baked to form a tasty crust similar to toasted bread. Best served warm, this Wisconsin Brun-uusto Bread Cheese develops a rich, buttery flavor. The texture of Wisconsin Brun-uusto Bread Cheese when warmed is soft, yet retains its form, and can have a slight crunch to the crust if grilled or heated in a skillet. Serve this unique Wisconsin cheese with jam, maple syrup, or create a savory appetizer with olives and artisan bread. Made by Brunkow Cheese of Darlington, Wisconsin.
